The all new Toyota Fortuner TRD comes in as a limited-run model
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has given its hot-selling SUV, the Fortuner, a limited-run special edition dubbed the TRD. The TRD-spec car comes in as a cosmetically beefed-up iteration and boasts of a series of design and feature upgrades. The car gets a set of new 18 inch R18 TRD alloy wheels, dual-tone roof, illuminated scuff plates, auto-folding RVMs and a 360-degree camera to make it stand out from the regular variant.
The TRD edition is available on both 2WD and 4WD variants. Toyota is also offering a series of interesting accessories like Tyre pressure monitoring, wireless charger, HUD, etc under its ‘special technology package’.
There is no mechanical change as such on the Fortuner TRD, as the engine and gearbox remain the same (2.8L 4 cylinder diesel, 6 AT) on the TRD as well. The Fortuner TRD is priced at INR 34.98 lakh for the 2WD iteration and a whole 36.88 for the AWD version. Toyota is hoped to give the Fortuner a facelift sometime in the near future. The carmaker had recently been spotted testing the mule with minimal camo.
