The new S Class will debut with a more premium launch Edition
Mercedes Benz India is set to bring in the all new S Class to our shores. The all new S Class (V223) will launch here on June 17,2021 and will have a drool-worthy ‘Launch Edition’ as well. The Launch Edition will be fully imported and be available with petrol and diesel engines ( S 450 4Matic and S 400d 4 Matic).
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Launch Edition comes with 4Matic all-wheel drive and 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard in both the variants. The S 450 petrol will have an inline-six turbocharged unit, which produces 362hp and 500Nm. The S 400d will feature the OM656 inline-six diesel engine used in the other modern-day large Mercedes cars in India and it will produce 326hp and 700Nm.
V223 Mercedes S Class Launch Edition: What To Expect?
The fully imported S Class Launch Edition will come with a plethora of standard features, many of which would later be available as optional extras, once the local assembly begins. The new S Class will have ‘Digital Light’ LED headlamps, which are capable of projecting symbols and guidelines to the road surface. It will also feature pop-out door handles, rear-wheel steering and a sportier AMG Line trim.
A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Mercedes’ New 12.8 inch portrait-oriented OLED touchscreen with the latest MBUX system (NTG7) are among the key interior highlights. The infotainment system also has facial, voice, and fingerprint recognition, and supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. It has a storage space of 320GB along with 16GB RAM.
Other features inside the cabin are 64-colour ambient lighting, a Burmester 4D surround sound system, and massaging seats. There would a bench seat at the rear and electrical adjustment for the outer seats, raising leg-rests and massage functions. The passenger will be able to adjust the co-driver seat from the rear and control various in-car functions via the central tablet controller. Along with the rear seat entertainment screens, the S-Class sedan will be equipped with unique rear front airbags.
Mercedes Benz S Class will be available in 5 colours- Designo Diamond White, Onyx Black, Anthracite Blue, Rubellite Red, and Emerald Green. Depending on the exterior colour the interior Nappa leather upholstery will be available either in Macchiato Beige or Sienna Brown.
Mercedes will be introducing Maybach S-Class luxury limousine to India soon, followed by the all-electric flagship- EQS sedan. BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 will be the rivals of Launch Edition S Class (V223) in the Indian market.
