Porsche has taken the veils off the all-new Porsche Macan GTS. This is more of a sports car in SUV clothes. Get to know more about it here…
Porsche has just made its compact SUV family bigger by unveiling the Macan GTS. The Macan GTS is the new member to the Macan tribe along with its forerunners the Macan S and the top-spec Macan turbo.
The all-new Macan GTS is presented to you with a totally upgraded sportier shell with obvious changes at the front and in the rear. A set of striking new side skirts finished in black. The LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and tail lights with LED light bar have also been smoked by a fair bit. In the rear, the diffuser and the tailpipes of the standard sports exhaust system are all draped in black to leave you enchanted by the overall grandeur.
The GTS chassis runs 15 mm lower than the standard and a further descent of 10mm might be achieved by the optional air suspension system. With a set of 20 inch RS Spyder wheels coupled with a 360×36 mm and a 330×22 mm cast iron brakes, Porsche Macan GTS impresses you with “the agility and responsiveness of a true sports car”. Now you know what the title is all about! Additionally, the Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB) with tungsten carbide coating or the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are rendered as options if you prefer to have sharper deceleration.
The Porsche Macan GTS, claimed to have exceptionally good driving dynamics, comes with a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 engine akin to the Turbo model giving off 380hp power and 384 lb ft of torque. The Porsche Macan GTS finds a place between the standard S and the Turbo models of the Macan line up. And Porsche offers you an upmost sprint of 162 mph and you’ll be hitting a 60mph speed in 4.7-seconds. The drive is made further smoother by the Porsche’s Active Suspension Management (PASM) system.
As for the interior, Porsche has nothing but the Alcantara leather for the armrests, door panels and seat centres with an aluminium contouring to augment the added flair. The multifunctional steering wheel and the shift paddles seem much the same as the standard, whereas the sports seats exclusively for the GTS are equipped with eight-way adjustment mechanism and bolsters on the side are sufficed to enhance the comfort. A Bose surround-sound system, inductive smartphone charging tray, traffic and park-assist programmes and a rear-view camera are on offer as well.
Definitely a sports car in SUV clothes, is the new Porsche Macan GTS your perfect pick for the weekend hooning? Well…
