Much anticipated Maruti Baleno facelift bookings are officially open in India
Maruti has officially started the booking for the facelift of its premium hatchback Baleno, which is expected to launch soon.
Bookings for the Baleno facelift can be made through the official website and Maruti Nexa dealerships for Rs. 11,000. Production of the model is underway in Maruti’s plant in Gujarat.
The biggest upgrade in the new Baleno facelift is the head-up display. The new display will be a glass unit placed behind the instrument panel and will show details such as speed, RPM, gear, time, and data from the climate control system.
Baleno facelift will also feature a new touchscreen, interiors, instrument cluster, and six airbags for protection.
The new model will be using the same 1.2-liter K12B and K12C engines from the existing Baleno. K12B engine is capable of generating 82BHP and 113NM torque, while the K12C version churns out 89BHP at the same torque as the former and is assisted by a 12V mild-hybrid tech.
The standard gearbox will be a 5-speed manual, and the K12B version currently has a CVT mode, but with the new facelift, Maruti is likely to introduce AMT.
As far as the design is concerned, the new Baleno facelift gets a revamped exterior with new headlights, bumpers as well as tail lamps.
Currently, the top-spec Baleno sells at Rs. 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom), and with the facelift, the price is expected to touch 10 lakh. When launched, Baleno facelift will rival the likes of Hyundai i20, VW Polo, and Tata Altroz.
