Let’s take a look at the top 10 best selling CNG cars of 2021
With Diesel and Petrol prices skyrocketing in 2021, India’s CNG car sales soared by a record 7.3%, closing the year at 2,25,196 units. As usual, Maruti Suzuki dominated the list of top-ten best selling CNG cars with a total of 187,406 units sold.
CNG-powered WagonR topped the table with 78122 units sold in the year. The tall boy hatchback continues to be popular in India with the regular petrol registering sales of 105,728 units last year. Ertiga came second in the CNG sales chart, with 51706 units, while Eeco finished third, selling 25878 units.
The fourth and fifth spots were secured by Hyundai, as the Korean manufacturer sold 19,127 units of the Aura S CNG and 14,326 units of i10 Nios CNG.
Maruti Dzire, sixth on the list, is the last CNG car to cross the 10K mark in sales last year, selling 14,196 units. Celerio CNG sold 6,679 units, followed by Alto with its 6,529 units. S-Presso CNG stood ninth on the list with sales of 4,926 units, and Hyundai Santro CNG closed the chart selling 4,131 units.
The CNG game in India is gonna get tougher in the coming days as a rejuvenated Tata Motors has launched Tiago and Tigor i-CNG.
