Here are the cars and SUVs that would ask you to wait for a lifetime to take home!
Long waiting spans for popular vehicles have become an everyday affair in India. New car shopping here has been severely impacted by the same. People end up waiting weeks and months and years (!) just to take home the cars and SUVs they paid for! While the dealers might cite excessive demand, supply chain crisis and a thousand other things as reasons, high waiting periods trouble the buyer a lot. Well, here are 16 cars and SUVs that demand the longest waiting spans in India, in 2023. If you’re planning to buy any of these, consider this your angelic warning ( and bail!)
Vehicle | Waiting period |
Tata Nexon | 8-20 weeks |
Tata Tiago | 3-20 weeks |
Tata Punch | 3-26 weeks |
Mahindra XUV 700 | Up to 70 weeks |
Mahindra Scorpio N | Up to 70 weeks |
Mahindra Thar RWD | Up to 45 weeks |
Toyota Innova Hycross | 40 weeks |
Toyota Hyryder | 5-6 months |
Toyota Fortuner Legender | Up to 4 months |
Hyundai Creta | Up to 40 weeks |
Hyundai Venue | Up to 7 months |
Kia Carens | Up to 20 months |
Kia Sonet | Up to 11 months |
Maruti Suzuki Eritga | Up to 6 months |
Maruti Ertiga CNG | Up to 10 months |
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara | 5-6 months |
Maruti Baleno | Up to 5 months |
Interesting is the fact that German cars ask for minimal waiting periods and most of them are readily available. Luxury cars from BMW and Mercedes, on the other hand, have waiting periods of up to a year. Also, it is mostly the most VFM variants that demand the most in waiting than the range toppers.
If you are affected by and mourning these long spans, our advice would be to not invest too much in time. Look for alternatives and move on, than invest months and years in a specific car and variant!
