BMW Group has outwitted Mercedes Benz India in Q1 2020 sales in the country. BMW Group India sold 2482 units in Q1, which again, is the BMW and MINI figures combined. BMW India alone sold 2365 units and for MINI India, it is a sweet 117 units mark. Needless to say, the covid 19 Coronavirus outbreak has had its toll on the sales for the carmaker. Mercedes Benz India, as we had seen through a previous post, managed to sell 2386 units in Q1 2020. Thus, it is indeed a win for the BMW group here.

Diving further into the sales breakdown, over 50% of it has come from the revamped SAV array of the carmaker. BMW had recently given a decent makeover to their SUV range. They had even launched the all-new BMW X1 recently, which has been selling well everafter. As per the sources, the 3 and 5 series on sale in India have also been garnering decent numbers here.
The iconic MINI hatch and the locally produced Countryman are the hot-sellers for Mini India. BMW Motorrad, the marque’s two-wheeler wing, recorded sales of 1024 units in the first quarter. With the new BMW Financial Packages, owning one is a lot easier these days…
