The Renault Kwid RXL 1.0L comes both with manual and AMT automatic transmissions
The Renault Kwid has achieved an epic sales milestone in India. This entry-level hatchback has sold over 3.5 lakh units in India and the carmaker has chosen to celebrate the same in a different fashion. Renault India has given the Kwid 1.0L a more affordable RXL variant to better appeal to the common folk.
The Renault Kwid shines as a true ‘Make in India’ product with as much as 98% localization. This has made it possible for the makers to price it competitively in the Indian market. The prices for Kwid start at INR 2.94 lakh for the 800cc model and go all the way up to INR 5.07 lakh for the feature-packed Kwid Climber AMT. The Kwid has two engines on offer- an 800 cc unit and a 1.0L unit, both BS6 compliant.
The newly introduced RXL variant is priced aggressively and thus makes the brand accessible to more. Interestingly enough, the Kwid 1.0L RXL comes with both the manual box and the AMT. The Renault Kwid RXL 1.0L is priced at INR 4.16 lakh for the MT and INR 4.48 lakh for the AMT. The key competitor to the Kwid is the Maruti Suzuki Spresso, which is finding many buyers on the Indian soil.
