MG Motors currently has three models in its lineup including an EV
With three models completing its lineup, Morris Garages India records great sales figures in August 2020. The carmaker sold 2851 units in August alone, marking a growth of as much as 41% over the year-ago figures. MG had sold 2018 units back in AUG 2019.
MG had made their foray into the Indian market with the Hector SUV in 2019. The Hector was later joined by the MG ZS EV and quite recently by the 6 seater Hector Plus. The Hector Plus is witnessing immense amounts of traction on the Indian shores, quite in keeping with our expectations. The ZS EV too is finding many buyers in the EV segment, reporting good sales figures in Delhi and Telangana, where the EV ecosystem is fast flourishing.
“We have ramped up the overall production in August compared to July. We are working on fulfilling existing backorders for the HECTOR and prioritizing vehicle deliveries for the ongoing festive season. The recovery in upcountry markets has been faster which should augur well during the festive season.”
Rakesh Sidana, Director – Sales, MG Motor India
MG India is planning to launch the Gloster premium SUV in the country by Diwali. The vehicle would also be the first in India to feature Level 01 Autonomous driving.
