The BMW M340i xDrive is the first ‘made in India’ performance car with a true M engine !
BMW India has started manufacturing M-engineered cars at the Chennai plant. The carmaker has now brought out a thoroughly enthusing product to their M car lineup – The M340i xDrive performance sedan. The car gets a price tag that you won’t expect for an M offering- INR 62.90 lakh! Local production has helped a great deal in keeping the prices in check.
The M340i draws clear inspirations from BMW’s motorsport genes while still continuing to be a usable daily car. It gets powered by a 3.0L, straight-six turbocharged petrol engine, putting out 387hp and 500Nm. With a lot of M engineering gone into it, this engine together with the 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission and the AWD system, does a marvellous job of making the car sprint from 0-100 in just 4.4 seconds! To further add to the thrill of driving, the BMW M340i gets M-specific suspension, M sport rear differential, M brakes and an M performance chassis tuning as well.
In terms of equipment and creature comforts, the M340i gets all the boxes ticked which are expected to be done by a range-topping BMW 3 series. Plus, there are M-specific Sports seats with signature Alcantara upholstery, M seat belts, welcome light carpets, and more. The M340i sits at the top spot on the mw3 series lineup, which now caters to a wider range of buyers.
