The Honda CB500X draws its power from a parallel-twin engine
As a part of expanding its premium bike portfolio in India, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched the CB500X ADV motorcycle in the country. Following the success of the recently launched Honda Hness and its scrambler version, the CB350 RS, the company now marks its entry into the mid-size adventure tourer segment with the launch of this head-turning motorcycle.
It is being brought to India as a Completely Knocked Down kits and assembled locally. The bookings for the same have already begun through Honda’s Big Wing Topline dealerships with the prices starting at INR 6.87 Lakhs.
CB500X seems to be more of an all-rounder, designed to be rode on-and-off-road. Talking of the appearance, this road-biased adventure tourer features a rugged design comprising of 830mm tall seat, considerably big fuel tank with a 15 liters capacity, an adjustable windscreen offering superior wind protection, step seat, LED headlight, multi-faceted reflector, lightweight multi-spoke cast-aluminum wheels, dual-channel ABS and an upswept exhaust suitable for off-roading.
The CB500X is powered by a 471-CC liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine spitting out 47PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 43.2 Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm mated with a six-speed gearbox, boasting slipper and assist clutch techs. Furthermore, The CB500X is built around a diamond-shaped steel-tube mainframe and has 41mm telescopic forks at the front, offering plenty of travel. The nine-step preload-adjustable mono-shock to perform the shock absorption task provides a better rider experience.
The CB500X has a ground clearance of 181 mm. 310mm disc in the front and 240mm disc underpinned with ABS controls the braking of this ADV motorcycle. Honda CB500X will be sold in two colors- Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
Together with the exceptional styling and pick-of-the-bunch features at a price of 6,87,000, the CB500X will take on the likes of Benelli TRK 502 and Kawasaki Versys X-300.
