The BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition will only come as a 6 seater luxury SUV

BMW India has launched the BMW X7 Dark shadow edition in the country, at an ex-showroom price of 2.02 crores. There are so many things that set the ‘Dark Shadow’ edition apart from the regular BMW X7. The vehicle is based on the M Performance variant and comes in as a CBU import. Just 500 units of this car would ever be made. Bookings are open on the BMW online shop.

BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition: What’s So Special About it?

The greatest attraction of the BMW X7 Dark Shadow is its paint. The SUV comes in a charismatic shade of Frozen Arctic Grey. The first time that this shade finds a place in the BMW X line of SAVs is on the special edition X7 M50d. The BMW X7 Dark Shadow edition also comes with BMW’s laserlight technology. The 22 inch alloy wheels get Jet Black matt finish.

The car also gets the M Sport package. Other than these, almost all design cues remain unchanged from the standard car. There are the large kidney grille, roof rails, blackened tailpipes, all in place.

The cabin gets more features and equipment than the regular car. The Merino full leather upholstery comes finished in a dual tone scheme of blue and black. The roof comes finished in night blue Alcantara. The front seats are ventilated and are electrically adjustable. There is a large panoramic sunroof as well.

The X7 Dark Shadow comes just as a 6-seater, having two luxurious captain seats in the second row. The steering wheel is wrapped in M spec leather. The special edition X5 M50d gets five-zone climate control, special edition badges and a number of custom BMW trims inside. The SUV also gets BMW Live Cockpit professional, iDrive control wheel, 7.0 inch navigation screen, 12.3inch digital instrumentation, 16 speaker Harmon Kardon audio etc.

Specifications And Performance

The BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow comes with the 3.0L in-line 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine in the same state of tune as the regular M50d, churning 400hp and 760Nm. The transmission on offer is a 8 speed step-tronic sport automatic box. 0-100 kmph can be achieved in 5.4 seconds. The car comes with an M Sport package, featuring adaptive air suspension on all the four wheels.

At 2.02 crore, the ex showroom price of the special edition X7 is at a considerable premium over the X7 M50d’s 1.65 Crores.

The Mercedes Benz GLS Maybach, scheduled to launch in the coming weeks will put out serious competition to the X7 M50d Dark Shadow.
