Here’s how the various manufacturers in India are handling the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak
The COVID-19 pandemic has undeniably made a huge impact on the human race. The Coronavirus outbreak which began as an epidemic havoc, has now reached to the level of a worldwide wreck, seeming like a reminiscence syndrome.
In this scenario of COVID-19, even the automobile sector has taken an ample amount of wariness to tackle the pandemic. Honda 2 wheelers India and the Toyota Kirloskar Motor being among the first few Automobile companies to temporarily halt their productions in the country have now been followed by others like Kia Motors and Renault India.
They have suspended the entire production at their respective manufacturing plants and it has also been brought into notice that production will remain ceased until further notice from the government. Also “work from home” policy has been made effective in this current scenario for all the office-based associates.
Diversely, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has come up with an interesting idea to tackle this issue with, all its labour-intensive industries to work at 50% of their strength. Also, Kia Motors India would be available for all its customers through their digital channels and work from home for all its employees in its Regional SUB’s(Strategic Business Units) in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore.
Venkatram Mamillapille, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations said, ” The health , safety and well being of all Renault employees, dealers and other partners, their families and community at large is of utmost priority. In view of the escalating COVID-19 situation and to help prevent spread of the virus, production has been temporarily suspended at our Alliance Plant. We will await further notification from the State Govt. to resume operations.”
So that’s what the Automobile manufacturers have been doing to tackle the easy spread of COVID-19. So as to jump on the bandwagon, stay home n stay safe…
