The positive sales winds come in amidst challenging market situations.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) has recorded heartwarming sales figures for June 2021. The manufacturer sold 234,029 units in June this year, amidst the ongoing pandemic and recent nationwide lockdown. The lockdown relaxations and resuming of businesses that came recently played key roles in pumping up the Honda two-wheeler sales.
Out of the 234,029 units, 212,446 were domestic sales and 21,583 exports. On a YoY basis, the domestic sales grew by 5%, while the exports boomed by a massive 168%. Due to the pandemic, Honda Motorcycles could commence exports of just 8042 units in June 2020, while this year, the export figures rose to 21,583 units. These combined, give HMSI an overall growth of 11%.
Honda 2Wheelers had been actively commencing product launches before the second wave pushed in and the nation went into lockdown. With the relaxation measures slowly springing into action, the two-wheeler manufacturer is now aggressively resuming its operations. It was quite recently that they launched the new Gold Wing Tour, which got massive responses in the country, and started commencing deliveries of the new CB 650R and CBR 650 R as well.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Ltd envisions expanding their premium bike lineup in the country and plans to set up new BigWing Topline outlets in multiple cities. They opened 6 new BigWing dealer facilities in June 2021- Delhi, Kolkata, Dehradun, Patiala, and Mumbai.
