KIA India Strategy For 2024
India is Kia’s 6th largest market, accounting for 8-9% of global sales. The company plans to increase its market share in India to 10% by 2028, from the current 7%. This could mean a sales target of roughly 5,00,000 units.
Kia plans to achieve this by bringing in new products and improving its touchpoint network in the country. The touchpoint count is expected to go beyond 600 by 2028.
Further, the Korean manufacturer is betting big on SUVs and MPVs. It plans to capitalize on the Indian affection for these body types. The sedans are not to be expected any time soon. More interestingly, Kia India prefers to have EVs and ICE products co-exist, rather than zeroing in on electrics. There is, however, a keen interest in improving the EV infra here.
