The new Defender would have two distinct iterations, viz- Defender 90 and Defender 110
Land Rover is finally all set to bring the all new Defender series to the Indian soil. The carmaker had announced the prices of the new Defender sometime back and had then opened its bookings as well. The new Defender will have two different iterations, namely the Defender 90 and the Defender 110. The 90 as the name indicates, would be a short wheelbase model as opposed to the full size Defender 110.
Both the Defender 90 and 110 would be available in 5 different variants. The Defender 90 is priced from INR 69.99-81.30 lakh and the 110 from INR 76.57-86.27 lakh. The duo will be powered by a 2.0L 4 cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine churning out 300hp and 400Nm, mated to an 8-speed gearbox. Air suspension would be standard on the 110.
The new Defender duo would have a host of modern-day technologies like a large 10-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrumentation, connected car tech, a premium audio system from Meridian, 360 degree camera etc.
Land Rover is known to start the deliveries of the 5 door Defender 110, from the time of the launch itself. The Defender 90, however, would reach the customers on a later date, as the same has been globally slowed down due to the ongoing pandemic. The five-door Defender would go against the likes of Mercedes G Wagon, and Jeep Wrangler upon launch, while the three-door 90 will have no direct rivals in the country!
