Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG: What’s Changed?
The notable visual change in the Celerio CNG would be the new S-CNG badge, that differentiates it from the petrol counterpart. Also, the CNG kit in the boot has trimmed out a major chunk of cargo space.
Celerio CNG carries most of the features of the pure petrol VXi variant like the central locking system, power windows, air conditioning, electric adjust wing mirrors, and split-folding rear seat. The car is also loaded with dual airbags, ABS, and parking sensors.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG: Engine
There’s no change in the engine powering the CNG version of the Celerio hatchback; The new variant is also running on the same 1.0-liter K10C DualJet engine.
The CNG model, however, offers lower output figures. Its powertrain produces 57 BHP power and 82.1 Nm Peak torque, which is down by 10 BHP and 6.9 Nm compared to the pure-petrol model. The gearbox on the CNG model is just the 5-speed Manual, while the pure- petrol model also had a 5-Speed AMT on offer.
Maruti Suzuki claims the new Celerio CNG to be the most fuel-efficient petrol hatchback in India, with a 35.60km/kg of mileage. The Celerio CNG rivals the Hyundai Santro CNG and the upcoming Tata Tiago CNG.
