Tata Motors has responded to the rumors of a production halt for certain models at the Pune facility, dismissing them for mere rumors.
Rumors of Tata Motors having halted production of certain models at its Pune facility due to the second wave of COVID 19, have been doing rounds on the internet lately. As these have come in at a very crucial time for the carmaker when its products have been witnessing high traction in the domestic market, Tata Motors has now let out their official statement on these.
The homegrown carmaker has dismissed these for mere rumors and has confirmed that their Pune facility is running, although with a scaled-down workforce. The personnel chop-off comes in as part of the curfew imposed by the Maharashtra Government in response to the second wave of COVID 19. The plant is running in strict compliance with the guidelines mentioned in the government’s ‘Break The Chain’ order. The workforce maintains social distancing within the premises and also adheres to all the other safety and hygiene standards.
The Tata Motors plant has advanced COVID testing and screening facilities. If found symptomatic, the employees would be safely isolated and provided with all support for the quarantine. Tata Motors has also started vaccination drives in the plant for employees of age 45 years and above.
