Tata Motors India Now Has A New Tech Center At Pune, Here’s More About It…

The new state-of-the-art ‘Advance Power Systems Engineering Tech Center’ at the Engineering Research Center (ERC) Pune, will play a key role in the engineering, testing and developing powertrains for future models from Tata Motors India


With the carmaker fast sprinting towards absolute electrification and related modern-day tech, Tata Motors India has now opened a new state-of-the-art ‘Advance Power Systems Engineering Tech Center’ in Pune. Situated at the Engineering Research Center (ERC), this facility will play key roles in engineering, testing and developing magnificent powertrain solutions for upcoming products from Tata Motors Ltd. The Indian manufacturer will now have better and more pronounced synergies between the PV, CV and EV wings. The new tech center will focus on developing BS6 (phase 1 and 2) Real Driving Emissions (RDE), CAFÉ II, Hybrids, Electrification and BS7.

Speaking on the occasion, Tata Motors CEO, Mr Guenter Butschek,  said, “We at Tata Motors have been consistently gearing up for the future through strategic investments in our product development and engineering capabilities. I am delighted to witness our new ‘Advance Power Systems Engineering Tech Center in Pune’ go live, which was established in a record time of 15 months. This facility will act as a hub to develop class-leading powertrain solutions for our vast product portfolio across ICE and Electric. This technical centre reiterates our commitment to offer our customers a wide range of clean, sustainable technologies, thus meeting their aspirations.”

Spread across a massive 1200 square meters of land, the Tata Motors Pune test center hosts everything one would ever require for the efficient development, calibration etc of light and heavy-duty powertrains. Also onboard are the necessary tech and stuff for the effective testing of range, power, drivability and durability of electric vehicles.
