Tata Power To Develop 4MWp Solar Project At Tata’s Pune Plant

The project will generate 5.8 million units of electricity

Tata Power has announced its plans to develop and install a 4MWp solar project at Tata Motors plant in Pune. The on-site solar project will be installed at the commercial vehicle manufacturing facility. The project is expected to generate 5.8 million units of electricity and save up to 10 lakh tonnes of Carbon. Tata has deployed up to 15 MWp solar projects till FY22, and the same is expected to grow further in the time ahead. The manufacturer has plans of shifting to renewable energy for all its operations and the new installation is part of the same.

As of FY22, Tata generated 92.39 million kWh of power from renewable sources. This translates to 19.4% of the total energy required for the manufacturing and ops. Tata Power is a major in the solar power scene and currently owns one of the world’s largest rooftop solar solutions capable of producing 16MW and multiple other setups across India.
