The 2020 Mercedes Benz AMG C63 coupe comes powered by a 4.0L V8
Mercedes Benz India has launched the 2020 Mercedes AMG C63 in India. The C63 AMG packs an AMG heart into a C class shell and now comes in a two-door coupe layout instead of the previous four-door saloon guise. The car sits above the C43 AMG in the lineup and is priced at INR 1.33 crores (ex.showroom).
The design of the new C63 has been revised quite a bit. It now gets a large AMG Panamericana grille with chrome-clad vertical slats and a stunning multi-beam LED headlamp cluster that boasts of 84 different LED units in composition. The new C63 gets redesigned bumpers upfront and at the rear. There are pronounced air domes on the bonnet further adding to the car’s persona. The coupe also gets a striking side profile, thanks to the black 18-inch wheels and beautifully drawn lines. The rear gets a lip spoiler and stylish twin exhaust tips.
The cockpit of the new C63 coupe has also been revamped. It now gets an AMG cabin that has been further enhanced to suit customer convenience. It now gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment unit that has all modern-day connectivity solutions in place. The new C63 also has Mercedes Me connected car technology among many other newbies. Other attractions inside the cabin include wireless charging facility, full-size panoramic sunroof, AMG Dynamic Select with five different modes, and an epic Burmester Surround Sound system. The multifunction AMG flat-bottom steering has dedicated AMG-specific control buttons for a more engaging driving experience.
The AMG C63 Coupe is powered by a 4.0L V8 bi-turbo engine that comes mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This engine has been manufactured keeping Mercedes Benz’s ‘one man one engine’ concept in mind. The global markets have the car in two different tunes- 475 hp/ 650 Nm and 510 hp/700 Nm. However, India gets just the former for the time being. The C63 is capable of doing the 0-100 sprint in just 4.4 seconds. Generous use of Carbon fibre, AMG spec exhausts and AMG spec suspension, all but do their parts well in giving the C63 this breath taking performance.
The AMG C63 comes with seven colours, 4 trims, and 4 different upholsteries to choose from. The car comes in via the CBU route and can be ordered online through the Mercedes Benz portal and can be had home delivered.
