The new Mercedes Benz GLE would launch with three different engines to choose from…
Mercedes-Benz India has revealed plans for the Indian debut of 2020 GLE. The SUV will launch in India on January 29, well ahead of the 2020 Auto Expo. The Mercedes Benz GLE gets a host of changes in the new model. It is larger, has more wheelbase and has drastically been upped on the quality and equipment fronts.
The car gets LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, large dual screens for infotainment and instrumentation, hands-free parking, powered front seats, powered tailgate, 4 zone climate control etc. There are even stuff like a six-way adjustable powered rear seat, adaptive air suspension, 360-degree camera etc available on the more expensive 6 cylinder trim.
There would be three engines on offer on the new GLE- two diesels and a petrol. The 2.0L four-cylinder diesel mill lets out a healthy 265hp/500Nm. The bigger 3.0L 6 cylinder diesel would have as much as 330hp/700Nm on offer. There would also be a 367hp/500Nm 3.0L 6cylinder turbo petrol mill available on the new Mercedes Benz GLE. The petrol motor would even have a mild-hybrid tech for added oomph.
The new GLE, once launched, will go against the likes of Audi Q7 and BMW X5. We expect the prices to start somewhere around INR 75 lakh.
