Yamaha adds traction control and better tech to its India line-up with the update
Yamaha India has revamped its motorcycle portfolio for 2023. All popular models- the R15, MT15, FZ-S and FZ-X have been upgraded with more tech, safety features and slight cosmetic reworks. The prime focus this time has been on improving the rider’s comfort, convenience and experience.
Yamaha motorcycle models for 2023, will be OBD-2 compliant, meaning they will have an onboard diagnostic system that can monitor and report emissions in real-time, and traction control will now come standard. Some of these updates were mentioned in one of our previous articles on upcoming Yamaha bikes. Let us now take a closer look at these new models…
2023 Yamaha FZS V4 And FZ-X
2023 Yamaha FZ-X and FZ-S models have been upgraded with improved safety features, including dual-channel ABS and minor cosmetic revisions. 2023 FZ X gets a new matte Blue colour option and more stylish golden wheels, with the update. Other colour options include matte black and Matte Copper. The motorcycle is powered by the familiar 149 cc air-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The 2023 FZ-S has a brighter, slightly redesigned headlight, LED blinkers, new colours, traction control, and a digital instrument cluster. The colour palette remains nearly untouched.

2023 Yamaha R15M And R15
The 2023 R15 comes with LED turn signals and an all-LED lighting setup. The R15M variant has received a new TFT instrument console with better resolution and improved switchgear. The sports bike also gets a new dual-tone colourway of matte Black and Gold, with sporty golden USD forks and golden-shaded wheels. This will be in addition to the existing colourways dark knight, metallic red, and racing blue. The R15 duo now comes better-packed, with Traction control and ABS for breath-taking dynamics. This will have a loud impact on the R15M in particular, as it is the more potent rendition with an uptuned engine and more horses.

2023 Yamaha MT15 V2
2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2 comes with LED turn signals and dual-channel ABS. Visual updates include a new colour scheme of gloss black and red, and golden USD forks. The existing MT-15 has colour options: ice Fluo-Vermillion, metallic black, racing blue, cyan storm, and the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition colourway. Both R15 and MT-15 share the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine and 6-speed gearbox.

In other news, Yamaha is also one of the sponsors for the upcoming Moto GP in India. The manufacturer seems to be excited about this and apparently sees it as a key opportunity to showcase their pedigree and passion for racing to the Indian audience. While more details around this are yet to surface, Yamaha has revealed that its M1 race bikes, which will race at the BIC in September, will have ‘Call Of Blue’ brandings on them.
