Though details of the venture are scarce at the moment, we hear that the initiative would target ICE two-wheelers as a whole and not just scooters
I would say the Ather 450 is still the best thing that has happened in the Indian EV arena in recent times. Its makers have been on a relentless journey to make the transition to EV possible, ever since its launch. Ather Energy has already introduced various subscription plans, leasing schemes, and even rentals for the smart peppy EV. Now to further boost the shift to the EV-era, they have been heard of planning an exchange program for ICE two-wheelers.
I’ve used the word ‘heard’ deliberately, as Ather is yet to give an official word on the same. It is hoped to take another week or two before their final plans are announced officially. But as far as we have heard, the manufacturer would be tieing up with another firm for facilitating the exchange effectively. The program would most likely include petrol-hearted two wheelers as a whole and not just the scooters. Well, that is definitely Christmas!

Ather Energy is still pitching on their expansion plans as per the reports. They hope to open 8 dealerships by the end of 2020. It should also be said here that the likes of Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune outlets would definitely confront delays in completion owing to COVID 19 and the associated chaos.
Ather 450, the maiden offering from the manufacturer still continues to sell in Bengaluru and Chennai in good numbers. The brand also has the top-end 450X and the slightly lower spec 450 Plus on sale currently. While it would cost you just INR 1.10 lakh to own a 450, the 450 Plus and 450X would set you back by INR 1.49 lakh and INR 1.59 lakh respectively.
Like you, even I am eagerly waiting to hear from Ather on the Exchange scheme, and would definitely love a trade-in sometime soon!
