Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Triumph tiger 900 in India. Here’s what you need to know about it…
The Tiger 800 models have played key roles in setting up Triumph’s feet in the Indian market. Ever since the market debut, they have always captivated the riders by providing an exhilarating riding experience. For 2020 triumph brings an all-new design for the motorcycle.
A fully new design is proof that Triumph has listened to the Tiger 800 owner’s opinions. The addition of detachable pillion footpegs and a repositioned air filter box makes is evident. Gone are the large headlamps and the beefier looks, they are now compact and well packed together.
All the variants of this British boy are powered by a new 888cc mill which has an entirely different feel, character, and sound. This engine houses an all-new T-plane Crankshaft, which is the first of its kind and a new firing order of 1-3-2. This offers a linear power delivery with up to 12% more power across the rev range and a peak output of 95 hp @ 8,750 rpm, And now the engine produces 87 Nm @ 7,250 rpm which is better distributed at the low-end rev ranges through a 6-speed gearbox.
Triumph has bought three variants of the tiger to India. Tiger 900 GT, which is tailored for all the road going adventures, Tiger 900 Rally will be the pick for offroad and Rally PRO will be the best option for an adventure enthusiast with a strong zeal to push and test the limits. All these variants are backed by top of the line electronics and rider aids. Rally pro gets an additional rider configurable mode and few more exclusive features which make it even more appealing for the adventure riders out there.
The pricing of the well-packed motorcycle is highly competitive. The bad boy goes against the middleweight adventure bikes like BMW 750 GS, Ducati Multistrada 950, and others. Triumph has made the Tiger 900 available from 13,70,000 to 15,50,000 INR (Ex-showroom). The pricing will compete with the Honda Africa Twin as well.
