All-Electric Jaguar I Pace Launched In India From INR 105.9 Lakh

The Jaguar I Pace is the manufacturer’s first-ever BEV offering

Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the all-electric I Pace SUV in the country with prices starting from INR 105.9 lakh. The I Pace comes in as a first milestone to the all-electric future of the brand here. The I Pace is available in the S, SE and HSE trims with the prices of the last going up to INR 112.29 lakh.

Quite a stylish SUV as such, the I Pace offers clean lines and a bold stance. The car does benefit from these in terms of aerodynamics and has the signature Jaguar design cues all around. The cabin gets almost all the boxes ticked in terms of creature comforts and technology.

A large panoramic glass roof, 12.3 inch HD instrument cluster, Pivi Pro infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ClearSight Rear View Mirror (similar to the ones we had recently seen in the new Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque), Sofware Over The Air updates (meaning you could update everything from the infotainment software to the battery management and charging remotely) etc are among the key highlights.

The I Pace is built on an EV platform that has been specifically engineered for this car. The D7e as it is called, is a heavily reworked version of Land Rover’s D7 architecture with the intention of making it EV ready. The I Pace gets a dual motor setup ( one for each axle) mated to a 90kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, as its heart. Together, these motors churn out an impressive 395 hp (197hp each) and 700 Nm, figures that could make the I pace sprint from 0-100 in just 4.8 seconds. The top speed, however, has been electronically limited to 200 kmph.

As for the battery, the I Pace has a floor-mounted battery pack comprising 432 pouch cells. 0-80 percent DC fast charging (25kW) would require 85 minutes time span. The battery comes with a warranty of 8 years or 160000 kilometers. Plus, Jaguar is also offering 5 years roadside assistance package, 7.4 kW AC wall-mounted charger, and 5 years service package along with the IPace

The I Pace is the British marque’s first-ever EV offering and had had its global premiere on March 1, 2018. The electric SUV hits the Indian soil around 3 years past the same, hinting at how seriously Jaguar sees the Indian market’s evolving EV potential. Together with Tata Power Ltd, the manufacturer is fast expanding the EV infrastructure here. All the retailer outlets in India are now EV-ready.
