Milestone for Kia’s first EV in India…
Since its debut in May this year, Kia’s first electric vehicle (EV) in India, the EV6, has been making headlines. The ARAI-certified range- an astounding 708km, is the most recent news about the EV6. These are by far the finest range figures for any EVs that are currently in the Indian market.
As per WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) cycle, Kia EV6 has a claimed driving range of 528 km. However, it has now been certified with bigger numbers of 708km by ARAI. The standardisation body tested the GT Line variant, which has a dual electric motor setup. It is capable of producing 321 hp and 605 Nm. This vehicle houses a 77.4kwh Li-Ion battery pack .
The EV6 can be charged from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes via a 350kW fast charger. It’ll take about 73 minutes to charge the same over a 50kW fast charger. The electric car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kmph in 5.2 seconds.

Kia EV6 is the brand’s first electric car based on the E-GMP, or Electric-Global Modular Platform, to be sold in India. It is 1,544 mm tall, 1,778 mm wide, and 4,681 mm long and with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. Indian customers are already excited the electric crossover. The South Korean auto giant has so far shipped about 200 units of the EV6 to India.
The luxury electric crossover comes with a ducktail-style spoiler, full-width LED tail lamp, 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, curved dual-screen layout, floating centre console, two-spoke steering wheel, use of sustainable materials, augmented reality HUD, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, 10-way powered and ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, ADAS, etc. The price of the AWD variant is 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom), while the RWD is priced at Rs.59.95 lakh(ex-showroom).
