The worldwide sales of Lamborghini see a whopping 51% rise!
Not long ago had we seen a supercar maker shake the markets with a ‘super SUV’. Yes! it is definitely the Lamborghini Urus, that we are talking about. The Urus has been amassing massive bookings ever since it’s launch.
Unsurprisingly enough, news releases are now out yelling Automobili Lamborghini to have sold record number of vehicles in 2018. The Italian supercar maker sold 5750 units last year, thus recording global sales growth for the eighth consecutive year. 2018 saw all Lamborghini models boom ahead in sales.
The Aventador and Huracan, both achieved record sales figures, needless to mention is the Lamborghini Urus, that witnessed over 1761 deliveries. The Lamborghini SUV was launched back in July 2018 and has played a key role in the record hike in the carmaker’s sales figures during the previous financial year.
The Aventador was launched in 2011 and has been selling decent numbers every year, till date. The V12 supercar sold 1209 units in 2018, a number that essentially indicates a 3% growth.
Stronger than the sales of the Aventador was those of the Huracan. The V10 supercar had a 5% growth, selling 2780 units in 2018.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini comments: “In 2018, Lamborghini entered new dimensions. We delivered not only another sales increase, but reached substantially new levels in surpassing by far the magic mark of 5,000 Lamborghinis sold. This quantum leap proves the sustainability of our product and commercial strategy. The performance is all the more remarkable as we mastered an unprecedented double challenge: constantly bringing new models and technologies to the super sports car market, while simultaneously managing doubled production capacities at our headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Right from its sales start, the new Super SUV Urus created enthusiastic market acceptance and broadened our customer base. We also significantly increased our high brand awareness, especially with the young generation, having multiplied our followership on our social media channels to more than 32 million. All this is a real team achievement and I would like to thank every Lamborghini team member for their inspiration and dedication to our brand.”
Automobili Lamborghini in 2018, had been keen and aggressive in keeping up their lineup up to date with the then-latest tech and models. The year had seen the rise of a number of new Lamborghini models- the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio being displayed back in January 2018, Huracan Performante Spyder being launched in March and finally, the Aventador SVJ unveil in August. Besides these, the Italian giant had also presented the Lamborghini SC18 Alston in 2018. Developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse in conjunction with the customer, the one-off V12 car is more of a track machine with exclusive racing features.
Just for the few wondering souls, all Lambos can be customised under the carmaker’s Ad Personam personalisation program. Still wondering how? Check this out…
