Mahindra Treo Crosses 5000 unit sales mark

The Treo is the first electric three wheeler to have made this achievement.

Mahindra’s electric three-wheeler Treo is amassing decent popularity in the country. The EV has crossed the epic 5000 units sales mark in India and is also the first of its kind to have made this achievement. The Treo range is economically viable for the masses. The three-wheeler is thus replacing the conventional fuel-powered autorickshaws in many parts of the country. Mahindra believes that the three-wheeler EVs would pioneer the shift to electric mobility.

The Mahindra Treo comes powered by a Lithium-ion battery that lends it quite an impressive range. This battery pack has a claimed life of over 1.5 lakh kilometers. The battery powers an electric motor that puts out 8kW of power and 42-newton metres of torque.

Mahindra claims that some of their customers have been able to do up to 265 kilometers in a single day, adhering to well-planned charging breaks as the EV offers easy charging. It is also no big game to drive one and thus the Treo range has found many women buyers as well. The fact that the Treo range has the longest wheelbase in the segment and thus more room on the inside, adds to the customer delight.
