Hero Motocorp Makes 84 Crores Investment in Ather Energy

Hero Motocorp and Ather Energy would have more strategic collaborations in the future

Hero Motocorp had earlier had a shareholding of around 31.27% in the EV startup Ather Energy. It had invested in Ather for the first time in 2016. Now, the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer has announced a further investment of 84 crores in the startup. This would raise Hero’s shareholding to 34.58%. The US$11 million investment will lead to many strategic collaborations between the two companies and together, they will embrace the future of mobility.

Hero Motocorp is also aiming to develop a proper EV ecosystem in the country and is also working on an ‘internal EV program’, which will provide the globe with access to EVs. Hero also has plans to set up solar charging stations for EVs in the near future.
