Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be manufactured at Maruti’s Gurugram plant and will be exported to other markets from there
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the Jimny in India at Rs. 12.74 lakh. The much-awaited Maruti Suzuki Jimny was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year. Since then, the SUV has been creating a buzz in the car community. The SUV is available in 2 trims – Zeta and Alpha. The prices of the Jimny range from Rs. 12.74 lakh to Rs. 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Jimny has received over 30,000 bookings since its debut. The deliveries of the SUV will begin in mid-June.
The launch of the 5-door Jimny makes India the first country to receive this version, as foreign markets only have the original 3-door models. The SUV will be manufactured at Maruti’s Gurugram plant and will be exported to other markets from there.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Platform and Powertrain
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny comes with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic. The engine is capable of producing 105 hp and 134 Nm. The Jimny comes with the older K15B engine, while all the other models have moved on to the latest K15C engine. The manual variant claims a fuel efficiency of 16.94 kmpl, and the automatic returns 16.39 kmpl.
The Jimny is underpinned by a rugged ladder-frame chassis and a 3-link rigid axle suspension, as well as an electronic traction control system. It also features Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system. The SUV has a ground clearance of 210mm.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Rivals
The Jimny will rival the Mahindra Thar (Rs 10.54 lakh – Rs 16.77 lakh) and the Force Gurkha (Rs 15.10 lakh) in the Indian market.
