The upcoming Nissan Magnite is a B segment SUV appealing to the masses in India.
Nissan has taken veils off its upcoming B segment SUV for India. The sub 4 metre SUV has made its global premiere online due to the pandemic concerns. Nissan has given the Magnite an appealing stance altogether. The SUV is sleek, stylish and reportedly feature-rich.
The overall design looks quite brawny. The car gets sleek headlamps and stylish DRLs along with a totally contemporary grille. The overall stance is indeed that of an SUV. The roof and the ORVMs have been blacked out. The LED tail lamps and the overall design of the boot resemble the Nissan Kicks to some extent. The concept looks quite close to production-ready and we are expecting very little changes in the production-spec car.
Nissan claims the Magnite to surprise the folks out here with its space and equipment array. Though it is still too early to comment on the equipment list onboard the car, it won’t be pointless expecting stuff like around view monitor, cruise control, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Reports suggest that the Nissan Magnite SUV will come powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, turbo petrol engine churning out close to 95 horses. The SUV will have both manual and CVT transmissions.
The SUV would be heavily localized, leading to a highly competitive price tag. With time still remaining for the official market debut, there is no hint on the pricing yet. But we are expecting it to start INR 5.30 lakh (ex. showroom). The key competitors of the Magnite would be the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV300, and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
