Demand exceeding the supply, Tata Motors produced 50,000 Nexons in the last 6 months alone!
Tata Motors has announced the rollout of the 2,00,000th Nexon from its Ranjangaon facility in Pune. Despite the Covid 19 and its restrictions, Nexon’s popularity has only increased in India, making its demand exceed the supply. It is currently one of the favorite cars of the cost-conscious compact SUV buyers. Since its launch in 2017, Tata had produced 1,50,000 units of the Nexon till November 2020 and a huge figure of 50,000 units in the last 6 months alone, taking the total count to 2,00,000.
Both the petrol and diesel versions of Nexon are fairly fuel-efficient and quite popular in the Indian market. It is also the first Indian SUV to score five stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. The compact SUV ranked among the top 10 highest-selling passenger vehicles in May 2021. March 2021 had witnessed Nexon’s highest monthly sales figures yet, of 8,683 units, emphasizing its wide acceptance and popularity here.
The Nexon, which underwent a facelift last year, is currently sold in 20 variants, combining 12 petrol trims and 8 diesel trims. Four of the diesel variants had recently been discontinued, and the rest updated, for making the choosing process easier and the product as such, more VFM.
Tata Nexon has a 1.2L Turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that churns out 120 PS of power and 170 Nm torque and a 1.5L four-cylinder diesel engine that gives out 110PS and 260Nm, to choose from. Both these engines have a six-speed manual transmission as standard and the diesel gets an optional six-speed AMT as well.
Looking at the features, Nexon has a sunroof, standard dual front airbags, ISOFIX, large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, reverse parking assist, a flatbottom steering wheel with integrated audio controls and much more.
