The 2023 Maruti Jimny is currently on sale in India and there’s a lot of buzz going on around it. The SUV, despite being priced as an absolute ‘niche product’, is garnering much attention. Maruti Suzuki India has now revealed the fuel efficiency figures of its newest hero car. The 5-door Jimny is available with the K15B petrol engine mated to a 5MT and 4AT gearboxes. The powertrain delivers 105 hp and 134.2 Nm.
It is also to be adored for its fuel efficiency figures. The manual variant is claimed to deliver up to 16.94 kilometres per litre. The automatic, with its not-so-modern 4AT torque converter, returns up to 16.39 kpl. These ARAI numbers could drop slightly in real driving scenarios.
The vehicle has a fuel tank capacity of 40 litres. This would mean that the Jimny 5 door could do up to 678km on a tankful in its manual guise, and around 656 km in the automatic. Also to be noted here is the fact that the Jimny gets the Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4WD tech and a low-range gearbox along with the rugged ladder-frame chassis. Taking these into consideration, Jimny’s ARAI-certified mileage figures are to be loved more.
