Müller comes in from VW Group
Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover appoints Thomas Muller as the new Executive Director of Product Engineering. Müller, a veteran in the automotive industry, is joining the UK-based carmaker from Volkswagen Group.
The primary role of Thomas Müller, who assumed office immediately, is the technical development of all new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, on both hardware and software fronts.
Jaguar Land Rover hopes Müller’s expertise in technology, agile leadership, and digital capabilities to bring significant benefits to the efficient delivery of the next generation of modern luxury vehicles, the company said in a statement.
Thomas Müller has been in the business for over 20 years with immense expertise in chassis, ADAS, and autonomous driving. Most recently, he was the Executive Vice President for Research and Development ADAS and Autonomous Driving at Volkswagen Group’s automotive software subsidiary, CARIAD.
The leadership change is part of JLR’s Reimagine strategy. It has an immense focus on ensuring sustainability, more on which can be read here. The carmaker had recently hit the headlines for building an energy storage system out of second life I Pace batteries. The development of these and more are expected to witness rapid progress in the time ahead.
