Hero Motocorp has presented the women officers of Gorakhpur Police Department with 100 units of Hero Destini and Maestro Edge.
Call this part of their CSR initiative, but Hero Motocorp has presented 100 scooters to the Uttar Pradesh police department. The act comes in as part of their commitment to promote women empowerment in India. Honourable Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath himself did the honour of flagging the rally of the 100 member fleet, comprising Hero Destini 125 and Hero Maestro Edge 125 presented to the lady cops, from Gorakhpur’s Gorakhnath Mandir.
The scooters go to the women police officers wing are known by the name ‘ Sherni Dasta’. All the scooters are equipped with GPS system, sirens, flash lights, public announcement (PA) system, pepper spray and other essential policing accessories. These new rides are hoped to make the patrolling more efficient, by increasing their independent mobilities.
Being an Indian two wheeler giant, Hero has always surprised us with their CSR initiatives. This is not the first time that they are associating with the state police departments. Earlier associations had led to the bikemaker delivering over 2900 two wheelers to the respective police forces of states like UP, Chhattisgargh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Karnataka, Orissa and MP, and also Puducherry.
