Dakar 2021 | Hero Motorsport’s CS Santosh Crashes Out, Kept In Medically Induced Coma

CS Santosh is now out of Dakar 2021

The latest updates from the ongoing Dakar 2021 are rather disappointing for motorsports enthusiasts. Hero Motorsport rider CS Santosh, who has been one of the most sought after Indian riders competing in the Dakar this year, met with a serious crash in Stage 4, and is now out of the competition. Though the crash was quite severe, the latest reports suggest that the rider is out of danger.

CS Santosh was progressing well in this year’s Dakar since its day 1. He had started with a P43 finish in the first stage and was standing at P34 when he finally crashed late in Stage 4. The crash occurred when CS was over 135 kilometers into stage 4. The rider had head injuries but was conscious and stable when the medics arrived at the scene. Resuscitated first by the co-riders, and then in detail by the paramedics, CS was soon transferred to the Saudi German hospital in Riyadh for further medical care. As the latest reports say, the doctors have put CS into a medically induced coma.
