Maruti Brezza Falls 20 Ft. Down, Keeps Occupants Safe!

This is a rather unusual achievement for an India-spec Maruti Suzuki

Its really important to travel in safer cars in India, where road accident rates are sky high and death tolls even higher. The number of road accident deaths are unbelievably high here. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the number of road-born deaths stood at 1,51,113 in 2019. Scary! Better precautions are now being taken to control fatal accidents around.

Here seen is a Maruti Brezza involved in a disastrous accident, thankfully all the four occupants escaped with minor injuries. Reportedly the driver lost control and the car drifted out of the road, tumbled down 20 feet, rolling over a couple of times.

The images shared by Shubham Kadam (resident of Satara, Maharashtra) reveal that the car suffered severe damage. To point out, the left side had the most damage seen, the hood, front windscreen, rear windscreen, wing mirrors, and the roof were damaged due to the rollover. The rear quarter glasses and taillights also got damaged. Overall the car is in totaled condition, hinting at the gravity of the accident. Fortunately, the passenger cabin took the impact without any major damage keeping all the passengers safe. Airbags don’t seem to be deployed and that’s a matter of concern though.

This particular Brezza is the older BS4 version which came equipped with the fiat sourced, DDiS 200 1.3L diesel engine. Currently, the Brezza is offered only with a 1.5L petrol motor complying with the BS6 norms. The car, however. had scored a remarkable 4-star safety rating in Global NCAP’s crash tests sometime back.
