The Toyota dealerships have restarted their operations but with reduced workforces, in keeping with the government directives.
Toyota Kirloskar has partially resumed its dealer and after sales operations in India. All the Toyota dealerships and customer touchpoints now function with highly reduced workforces, as directed by the Central and State governments. Around 171 of the dealerships have now restarted their operations nationwide. In addition to this, around 146 service outlets and touchpoints are also functional.
“We are grateful to the Government for its cautious and well-calculated decisions. While the lockdown was a necessary step to counter the virus spread and curb the consequences triggered by the pandemic, it is paramount to reignite confidence among customers, and stakeholders and boost their morale, during these difficult times. As we gradually recommence operations, we are ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our stakeholders while simultaneously safeguarding business continuity.
Keeping in mind the directives prescribed by the Govt. as well as the resumption challenges, we have devised certain restart guidelines which will further guide our partners and the industry through the ‘new normal’, adjusting to the new norms and the changes brought along with this crisis. We look forward to working with our partners to cater to the needs of our customers, while supporting the Government in this fight against this global pandemic.”
Mr. Masakazu Yoshimura, Managing Director, TKM
As is the case with the manufacturing facility, the dealer network too will practice strict social distancing measures among other government guided safety practices. Proper sanitization of the workplace and adequate PPEs have all been ensured in all Toyota showrooms. Toyota is closely monitoring the situation in general as well as those in their facilities for implementing any additional safety measures as and when the needs may arise.
Adding further to the positive nods to business, almost 75% of Toyota’s suppliers have obtained permissions from the authorities for operations resumption.
